The Band

Tyler

Tyler Bryant lives his life for music. Passionate about expressing himself and connecting with others through his songs and sounds, Tyler moved to Nashville from Honey Grove, TX when he was 17 to write songs and start a band. He has pushed the musical limits of guitar, vocals, and performance, and has captured the attention of the music scene with his spectacular talent and rare showmanship. Tyler is currently focused on songwriting in Nashville and Los Angeles that is centered on guitar-driven rock with an undeniable soul.

Tyler Bryant is a guitar prodigy who has shared the stage with Heart, REO Speedwagon,
BB King, Styx, Vince Gill and others, this past year. Tyler and his band; Caleb Crosby on drums, and Calvin Webster on bass, perform intensely and passionately and have thrilled their audiences while on their Samsung sponsored USA tour. Tyler is working tirelessly on writing and recording songs for his first CD.

At age 15, Tyler won the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation’s New Generation Award, which recognizes him as one of the most promising new artists on the music scene.
He has also performed at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago,
recently released a single, “Bittersweet,” produced by legendary Led Zeppelin producer, Kevin Shirley, and was signed by Creative Artists Agency on the spot, after, one performance in Nashville.

“It’s all been a whirlwind,” Tyler says, as he recalls a musical turning point at age 11, when he walked into a music store in Paris, Texas and heard 63-year old bluesman, Roosevelt Twitty, on guitar. “He was playing a Lightning Hopkins song. The soul just got me. It was all about the feeling,” Tyler says. “Mr. Twitty was performing with such emotion that it translated deeply, and I understood. Whenever you hear someone play with that much soul, where they really believe what they are singing, it’s so inspiring.”

Tyler’s captivating live performances exude his inspiration. “I am kind of OCD,” Tyler says. “I’ll play something over and over until I get it right. But on stage, I don’t think about technique. It’s like instinct, you just move toward it and I am never more energetic or natural than when I perform.”

Tyler is also featured in the award winning Rock Documentary Film, “Rock Prophecies,” with Jeff Beck, Santana and Slash, and most recently, his song, “Who I Am,” is featured on Guitar Hero® 5. With a fearless obsession for his art, Tyler Bryant is advancing his music at a feverish pace, and without limits!

John Huie, of CAA, says it best. “It has been a while since there has been someone who has the full package and can shred a guitar like Tyler Bryant. At 18, it is clear that he has a bright future ahead. With Guitar Hero, we have a whole new generation falling in love with the rock-n-roll heroes of their parents’ era. This is about to change with the emergence of Tyler Bryant.”

Calvin Webster – Bass / BGVs

Calvin Webster, 20-year-old purveyor of fine bass-based rhythms, inadvertently fell into a musical obsession at the age of twelve, when he picked up the dusty, no-name parlor guitar that had permanently occupied a small corner of his Kansas City home in an attempt to escape from the boredom of his ho-hum fifth-grade life. He hummed, strummed, and fretted about for about two years, until a friend introduced him to the bass guitar, at which point Calvin eagerly traded his strumming for slapping.

Many riffs later, he found himself studying diligently at the prestigious Belmont School of Music, where he soon became the swoon-inducing bassist on stage with up-and-coming artist Tyler Bryant. With hints of pop and a dash of funk, their blues-infused blend of rock propelled them to instant success, and soon they were melting faces nation-wide.

As the success of the Tyler Bryant Band increases, Calvin remains in a constant state of productivity. Though this newfound flurry of activity immerses him in a fast-paced life of songwriting, recording and live performance, Calvin still finds time to kick back with a good book, whip up a perfect pastry, or teach a beginning swing dance course.

Caleb Crosby – Drums / Percussion

For Caleb Crosby, it has always been about the beat. Growing up in the midst of a musical family, it was hard for him not to fall into succession. After settling behind his first drum set at age 10, Caleb was right at home. Alas, he had finally found the means to satisfy the natural beat within. And so the journey began.

Playing weekly at his church, performing with a university jazz band at age 13, and appearing twice in orchestras on the Carnegie Hall stage, Caleb chose Belmont University as his collegiate performance venue.

After moving to Nashville in the fall of 2007, Caleb began performing with many artists around town as well as becoming versatile in the studio. Melding intense classical training with an innate feel for the instrument, Caleb’s musicianship has continued to thrive at Belmont as he studies under such internationally respected artists as Chester Thompson and Zoro.

After meeting Tyler Bryant in early 2009, Caleb knew he had found his niche. Since he began traveling the country with the Tyler Bryant Band in May 2009, Caleb has earned endorsements from the esteemed Gretsch drums and Paiste cymbals. The fresh, groovy rock style that Tyler’s music offers has been a perfect outlet for Caleb’s spirited drum flair.
